I have been generous in my rating as I do think this series has promise and hope that Jon will be busy with his own practice in the next book. Why is Jon accompanying her to interviews of witnesses and suspects? Seems unrealistic and unprofessional. There are ongoing investigations she must pursue as a forest ranger. I am planning to read the third book, but am a bit disillusioned by Annie Pederson's work practices. There are some exciting moments on the lake and in the forest as you would expect at a location like Rock Harbor. Annie and Jon are a united front throughout and the Kylie question is much on their minds.
